Just don't care about what people think, interpretations may be individual...
but, believe me... I've been obsessed with Trigun since forever and I've finished rewatching and rereading the whole story for the nth time just in these days... (forgive my poor English, it's not my first language...)
I'm totally in love with Vash and Nicholas (they're my OTP, too) and that scene always makes me cry (I mean, really cry, like ripping my heart out). I didn't see any mistakes in your text. Your reminiscing is totally perfect in every way possible. The expressions say it all. Wolfwood is just as we remember him in his last moments: bleeding, forcibly smiling, his eyes not visible. And Vash is the emblem of sadness. He consumed himself using his power due to desperation, and that's something we've never seen him do... And their last words? Nick reminded him to smile, because it suited him better, and he was sorry he said his smile was an empty one... and Vash was dying inside with his friend, telling him to stop saying stupid things while praying in his mind to god to just do him this favour, just once... Even while I'm writing you all this, tears are flooding down...
